Historic Destinations

There are not many places that have as many links to Canada’s past as the Niagara Region. It was here at Niagara that the first parliament was held, abolishing slavery in Upper Canada. It is here that the first Hydro-electric plant was built, harnessing the power of the mighty Niagara. It is here where the battle between British and American forces took place establishing a new Canadian identity.

Through all these different milestones in Niagara's history, efforts have been made over time by governments, by organizations and even individuals to preserve what is unique about this wonderful region.

There is no better way to learn about something than to experience it first hand…so go ahead…spend a day of discovery…exploring Niagara.
